THE HEIR TO THE THRONE
a short full-length play (approx. 90 minutes)

Harvey has everything a man could want: an honorable discharge, a good wife, and two healthy daughters.  Surrounded by women, however, Harvey desperately needs male companionship. He spends his life pursuing relationships with men.  Nevertheless, tormented by family living and dead, Harvey dies alone in a room filled with women.

Inspired by the death of my grandfather, The Heir to the Throne was my first play, written in late 1990 and early 1991. It received a staged reading at the Hangar Theatre in Ithaca, New York, in August, 1991, and was a finalist in the Marvin Taylor Playwrighting Competition at the Sierra Repertory Theatre in Sonora, California. The play has never been produced.
